I've got an '06 S2R 800 with stock gearing and cored cans. My light comes on at about 120 miles. I never run it much past that. It usually takes a shade over 2 gallons to fill up at approx 120 miles so I'm confident I have about a gallon left at that point. I hear of lots of folks encountering horrible mpg stats with their bikes but mine routinely will pull 55-60 mpg if ridden easy around town, which I take advantage of. It pulls low 50's on the freeway if cruised about 65-70 mph. Raise it up to a constant 75-80, and the mpg's quickly dip into the low-mid 40's. Combined with the extra wind resistance, those engines apparently drink a substantial more amount of fuel higher in the revs. I commute on it as much as possible. I save major $$$ on fuel costs!
