I noticed a scratch on my front right fork...I dunno how it got there, b/c I bought the bike used...but will this be a problem...I'm a little bike unsaavy, so please bear with me...It's located on the Right hand Slider (according to the spare parts catalog, I think that's wat it's called)...

I was wondering if I would need to replace this (ie - will it affect/pose a danger to me riding) and if I can get this covered under warranty...Any help would be appreciated!

Btw...it's about a scratch 1 inch long right in the front, facing forward...Thanks!

you won't need to repair it right away but keep an eye on it... any metal flakes that tend to stick up may damage the fork-seals. if you end up losing a lot of fork oil, you'll have to replace the fork-seals. You can get the scratch sanded down. Eventually if you get too many dings in the slider, you'll have to eventually replace it if you keep sanding away at it. Get a superbike front fender to protect the front of the fork from damage.
