After changing out my front brake pads, they now rub fairly noticably when just moving the bike around without it started.. (Once started you can't hear it obviously).. is this something I should fix? Like sand the pads down a little or shouldn't I worry about it?

assuming the calipers are in good condition, you could chamfer the edges of the pads, or just ride it. im lazy,so i would do the latter.

Take the pads off, pump the lever up with a 1/4" something in between the cups, & wipe the cup surfaces down with brake fluid & a Qtip. They pick up a lot of cr*p & when you install new pads, you push all the cr*p back inside the seal area.
