you just need a pin to go through the hole in the axle that passes through the fork. a phillips head screwdriver should work fine. (opposite fork leg than the axle nut).

I don't know what an axle lock is.

Normal procedure for taking off the wheel is:

- take off the calipers (to let the wheel come out)
- take off the 28mm nut on the axle
- loosen the 4 pinch bolts on the forks
- slide the axle out
- remove the wheel

The only purpose of "axle lock" that I can imagine would be to keep the axle from rotating while loosening the nut, but the pinch bolts will not let it rotate anyway. Even without the pinch bolts - there's a hole in the axle on the opposite side of the nut that you can access through the bottom of the fork and just use a screwdriver to keep axle in place.

Beware of using the pinch bolts to keep the axle from rotating when you tighten the nut on reassembly.

The guys who put my new tires on did that, and had the left fork leg pulled in about .030". I saw 'em do it, and knew it was not right. Later, I loosened the pinch bolts, and the fork sprang out. Stroked the forks a couple times, and tightened the pinch bolts back up.

No need to have your forks binding..............
