Have Showa front forks on my '96 M900. Wondering if there is a way around having to have a special tool to compress and separate the shock shaft/body for seal replacement?

I fabbed up a spring compressor from a 2" steel pipe coupler - stole the idea off the web, somewhere. I'll take some pictures tonight if you're interested?

That would be fantastic, and highly appreciated! The poor bike is just sitting in the garage with no front suspension currently.. missing out on all that summer use :(

I know the feeling. :(

Just found the forum posting that had the "tool"...

Sport-Touring.Net - DIY Suspension Maintenance

Good luck.

Mike
Thank you for posting the forum with the tool. I need to do my forks this weekend, and with the whole, not having a job and no way of knowing if anything can be shipped because of Covid-19, and at home tools I can make will help out a lot. :)
