Hello everyone. I recently purchased a new Monster 800. Ive put around 350 miles on it so far and its been great. However today I noticed the digital temp gauge jumping around quite a bit. For example 163, 162, 175, 155, LO, 175, 176. Its fairly stable but the the first few hundred miles I seem to remember it was rock solid. Anyone think I may have a bad temp sensor? Or do you guys have the same type of "flakeyness".

I did a little investigating and found the sensor wire for the oil temp indicator. It turns out that its just a simple spade connector. Well mine was very loose causing an inconsistant signal. I crimped it on there tightly and now it works like it should. Just a good little tip for anyone else who notices there temp gauge jumping around a little. The wire/sensor is located on the bottom side of the engine cover on the right/rear brake side. :)
