I'm about ready to "drop in" a set of FBF pistons, but they didn't come with any instructions. Does anyone know which rings go in which grooves? And I think this is a 3-piece oil ring (a spring thingie sandwiched between two thin rings??), but I'm not sure. How does that work? Thanks.

The oil scraper ring assembly generally goes on with the spring thingie in the (lower) groove first with NO overlap at the ends....

then the upper and lower flat rings...one above and one below the spring thingie (in the same groove) to secure it in place.

Without repeatin' what everyone said, these guys are right. You may want to have someone actually there with you during the assembly who knows what they are doing. No offense meant, you only want to pay for this once. You don't want to lose compression, burn oil, etc. Later, Dan
