I was thinking of doing a tail chop but I don't want the pipes to stick out past the tail. I was considering cutting down the carbon fiber cans and machining up some new end caps to fit them because the diameter of the can gets smaller once the end is chopped down. I have a full Zard system on my S2R800. Any idea how this will affect the performance of the exhaust system? Is this a stupid idea?

Thanks for the input.

cut the cans down from the other side so you can keep the end caps. don´t know if it affects the performance but i doubt it. i did it with my gpr slip ons, looks much better than before.

Because the Zard CF cans are tapered for the full length of the can the diameter will change regardless of which end I cut. I think it would be easier to machine the end caps instead of messing with the steel pipe. Am I missing something?
