Hey guys,

I've been looking for a full kit (exhaust, chip and airbox lid) for my '03 M800 dark, I'd like the chip as these bikes tend to run a bit lean anway, so I'm wanting to get the chip, pipes and airbox lid as a kit from ducati. I looked in the catalog and talked with my dealer and am having a hard time finding the low aluminum exhausts with the chip and airbox, they list one for the 900, but not for the 800. I'm assuming the pipes will fit, but not sure if the chips will have completely wrong maps for fuel and ignition due to the 100cc size difference. Does anyone have any clues on what works and what doesn't ? I like the sound of the ducati upgraded pipes (termingioni (spelling?) )and would rather do those than the ferrachi's...

Thanks

There is no chip included with the DP pipes for the new- 02 & 03 fi bikes. The pipes are the same, come with a new air filter and the cans. I spoke with Ducati personnel before installing the high carbon cans on my 900, he said it would run fine without any remapping, etc. He was right- runs great, idles properly, no flat spots. The part # for the aluminum low ovals is 96421802BA. For the low aluminum round the # is 96420902BA.

Nope, no Power Commander, either. DynoJet says there's not enough demand, has no plans to make them. They say that they might be able to adapt one from a different application, the key word being might...

Got the pipes and airbox lid/filter today and installed, pipes are sweet, they are ducati performance remus. Keeps the ducati sound, but nice low rumble and more volume. The open box is really nice, you can really hear a lot from the throttle bodies now :) I'll pull the plugs after a good ride and see if it looks lean.

My 03 620ie didn't run too well after I installed the Sil Moto SS slip-ons. Dynojet just came out with a PCIII for the 620 - they might have one now for the 800. After installing the PCIII the bike runs better than stock. It was really easy to install and I downloaded a map from the internet that was really, really close. I'm still going to have it dynoed and fine tuned though, but for know she runs great.

I can't imagine your 800 is running too well with an open air-box ??? - please be careful, a lean running engine can cause damamge that will affect your warranty.

Thanks for the concern, yeah I know what running lean does to a motor, I have a standalone ECU in my car and mess with timing/fuel all the time. I'll be pulling the plugs tonight to see how the electrodes look.
