This canister and entire emissions system seems to be an OPEN system. I have removed the can and hoses, SHOULD I block the little tiny holes on the INTAKE hardware? I figure it was vented to the outside anyways.

I am thinking of just routing the gas tank hose down behind the clutch next to the battery vent hose.

Any advise or feedback would be appreciated.

THANKS!

yes plug the holes on the intake manifold.
put the gas tank vent hose where you want, as long as it wont get kinked.

ditto

I picked up some vac caps at AutoZone which fit my 2k2 perfectly and recycled the clamps that held the hoses from the can in place. Seems to work fine for me so far. If your clamps dont seem to tighten well enough you can get some small spider clamps and crank it down!

A lot of today's carbs on multi-cylinder bikes use 5mm or 6mm screws with crush washers to close the vacuum ports (these ports are used to attach a manometer for carb synching). The fittings that are left on the intake manifolds after removing the rubber hose are an M5 (5m) thread. If you can locate a couple of these 5mm vacuum port screws, you're golden.
