Talk about creating a positive view of motorcyclists--

The local forum (which sponsors an AFM race team) have started a program where they go to high schools to teach kids about moto safety and gear. They bring bikes, gear, crashed gear, crash pics and set up a "walk the line while drunk" simulation. They also have young up-n'-coming racers in attendance, so it's not just 'adults' lecturing about safety. It gets a [thumbsup] from me.

Here's the thread with some pics. [clap]

NOTE: THERE'S ONE GRAPHIC ROAD RASH PHOTO IN THERE and the link from the first post has more graphic photos.

You mean the one road rash pic in there? Yeah, it's yucky. I'll put up a disclaimer thingy.

I wish that there had been something like that when I was in high school.

wow, that's really cool! I would love to do something like that around here, but I'm not sure how the parents would react... be a pretty tough sell with parents here... not because of safety, but because we'd be promoting motorcycle riding.... :p
