I didn't notice either - which is funny to me, because the lack of a front fender in pics of older GP machines from the 60's and 70's always catches my eye.

I wonder if it is partly that heritage being carried forward as well as airflow or cooling management.

Interesting.

I went thru a lot of the photos on my screensaver. Most of the promotional pics and the testing pics they are using a fender. And they raced with one at Suzuka. It looks like the later races they did not use one, except at Assen where it was raining.
