I know this is a dumb question BUT, I am a new owner and I just got new FBF slip-ons. What kind of tools do I need to remove the stock cans and replace the new ones. and an even dumber question - where do I get these tools from? Thanks!

All you need is a metric wrench or socket (maybe 13mm) for the clamp at the front of the cans and a metric allen wrench for the mounting bracket. Oh and a rubber mallet to beat them on w/. ;D
Yep, just a metric allen set, a metric socket set and/or some metric wrenches (a crecent wrench would be fine though). Any store with a decent tool section will stock them. Personally, my local Sears has the biggest metric tool selection that I've found.
Thanks for your help. As for the rubber mallet, I guess the guy at the store was full of it when he said, "it is easy, you slip the old one's off and slip the new one's on" I'll get the mallet just in case :)
Some slip right on. Others have to be beaten to death. It is just one of those things [thumbsup]
I used a weighted rubber mallet on the FbF pipes on my M900...and still couldn't get them off. JEEZ!

Hey Simeon,

I think we should turn JAF's garage into a HUGE bike shop. I'll bring my tools!!!!!!!!!!!
