1998 Ducati ST2 Mad Max apocalypse custom street motorcycle



Completed Custom Build – not a project – turn key daily rider. Clean title.

Built to look, feel and SOUND as if ridden straight off a Mad Max movie set – yet daily rideable. Bike has 3,000+ miles since build completion including a 2,200 mi tour, FL to TN mountains and back.

1998 Ducati ST2 Sport Turismo, 944cc liquid cooled L-twin, 90 hp/66 lb ft torque, demsodromic valve actuation driven by Kevlar belts, dry clutch, Ducati Performance computer chip, opened airbox w/Termignoni Carbon Fiber mufflers, Brembo brakes and master cylinders with stainless steel lines and HH sintered brake pads, Brembo wheels, 14/43 tooth sprockets.

Customization/Fabrication:
• Battery relocation under seat
• Earth-X Lithium-ion Phosphate battery with built in over/under charging protections – uses standard 12V trickle charger, charging pigtail included
• Custom fabricated battery cables
• Relocation bracket for starter solenoid and master fuse
• Auxiliary fuse block under left inner fairing panel
• Stainless steel brackets for starter cable routing
• Digital voltmeter
• Yamaha MOFSET voltage regulator conversion w/custom, water proof, fabricated wiring
• New, integrated LED stop/tail/turn smoked lens
• Discrete auxiliary rear LED turn signals
• Brake light flasher w/red LEDs in painted skull license plate bolts
• LED front turn signal bulbs with flash rate capacitors – from SuperBrightLEDs.com
• Denali Sound Bomb 120dB electric dual tone air horn – discrete mount

o In Mad Max world represents victories or kills

• Rear master cylinder and caliper rebuilt

• New 525 chain, sprockets and front sprocket lock plate – OEM sprocket sizes = 15/42, new sprockets = 14/43
• New stator
• New cam belts
• Valve inspection with documentation
• New spark plugs
• New EBC HH sintered rear brake pads
• New spare key
• Speedometer dead-on accurate
• Red tape on tach signifies electronic rev limiter cut-in = 10k rpm


Quirks:
• Side-stand safety switch removed – you can ride off with the stand down – don’t do that
• Transmission safety disabled – you can accidentally try to start it in gear – don’t do that either
• Don’t put your foot/leg into the open clutch – it has spinning spikes
• Battery/charging idiot light not plugged in – digi voltmeter more reliable
• Actual mileage unknown, odometer was broken, replaced with used unit.
