I installed a set of black anodized Ducati Performance "Round" (I don't know why they call them "round" when they are really oval shaped) billet turning indicators. They look very cool, however they are very dim and hard to see compared to stock. They come with clear lenses and amber bulbs, and the inside of the housing is black, with no reflector. I am going to try to place some metal foil inside first to see if this brightens them up. If not, I am going to order amber lenses, which the catalog shows but of course may not be available, and go to higher watt bulbs, unless anyone here has a better idea.

Re: Ducati "Round" Billet Turning Indica

Will try to post pics this weekend. If you are considering these turning indicators, keep in mind they are too dim to be effective as they come from Ducati. They use an amber BA9S bulb, which appears to be about 5W (not marked on the bulb). The stock Ducati indicators use 10W bulbs. Secondly, the black ones I ordered did not come with any type of reflector on the inside of the housing, which allows what light the bulb gives off to be absorded somewhat. I placed some chrome automotive foil behing the bulb, which brightens them somewhat. I also found 10W 12V BA9S bulbs (they only had clear) from a marine supply website. I am now going to try to order the amber lenses and ditch the amber bulbs that came with the units.

Re: Ducati "Round" Billet Turning Indica

That really sucks if they are too dim. They sure do cost a bright penny! Did you consider either of the 2 options that motowheels offers, one is halogen and one by Rizoma?

They also look pretty nice.

Re: Ducati "Round" Billet Turning Indica

We installed a couple of those DP turn signals on a few bikes. We also had to put foil tape on the insides to get any light output.

They are easy to install because it is wired just like the OEM Ducati turnsignals.

The billet halogen turnsignals are much brighter but you must install fittings to the wire. They are easy to bolt up though because they use the same size hole. The new ones are rubber mounted so they will bend if hit.
