Anyone have experience with this seat? Is it any better than stock? Does it move you higher/lower or closer/farther away from the bars?

Are you talking about the Ducati touring seat from sargeant? If so it has more width, comfort, a little more height especially so, from some of the newer seats with the scooped out seats and a little more raised area in the front near the tank....
it hasn't impeded me from being closer or further than stock. and has of course more room for tools and is boatloads more comfortable

I just got a custom seat from CeeBailey last nite.
I will be writing up a review as soon as i can take it out for a test ride.
sitting on it in the garage i am really impresed

I bought a sargent seat myself.

Why?

- Sargent offers a nice little container that holds my
insurance/registration and a couple of small hand tools
perfectly.

- It also has a set of nice hooks to clip straps to.

Comfort?

- The seat angles my body more upright so wrist discomfort is
is a touch less.
- I don't slide into the tank
- I'm a bit higher up so my knees are not as tucked up
- less groin numbing vibration

I rode for about an hour and a half a few weeks ago, soon after buying it. Normally the stock seat gets uncomfortable for me after about 45 minutes. Not painful but I start to wiggle around more. With the sargent seat I was as comfortable as can be. It does have a slightly wide butt profile so it feels funny at first but you quickly get use to it.

I have a question for MosterHooligan: Did you send you own seat for the foam mod, or did you buy a seat from them?

A question for Retro and M.H.: Can the stock seat cowl be used?

Did you try to order one from DP (back ordered) and can't tell you when it will come.I went with a sargent and love it.Feels good on a long ride,but you will sit up about an inch higher.

Herb; yes the cowl fits...and the new ones are have a better (stiffer) pan than mine does...also they will make the seat custom to order.....less foam here or more there.....etc.
