I've got a 99 900 monster. I've done a lot of cosmetic mods to the bike such as tail chop, cf fenders, cf tail unit, cf windshield, marvings slip ons, new tires, mirrors, and a corbin seat. I now want to start working on the performance of the bike. I installed a jet kit and planning on doing the sprocket soon. However, with as cold as it is in this area how much of a problem would it be to buy these after market carbs with no choke? Does anyone know anyone around here who runs them?

P.S. I just found this web site and am psyched to go riding with you guys and girl(s?) this spring.

I think there's a guy in Norway on the main list who runs FCRs so he might have some useful info on carb icing problems. Some people have run carb heaters that circulate engine oil in a coil to keep the carbs from freezing up although I no have experience with them so I don't know how well they work. Good to see someone else who's new here. I was beginning to feel like the only one. Cheers,
Hanns

I would say talk to Tom and Tony at Manley Cycle. Their number is 612.822.7377. They are over off of Grand between 28th and Lake. They should be able to help with sourcing and technical backup. You could also post the same question out in the tech section or do a search for this topic in the tech section. CA Cycleworks is also a good source of parts and knowledge. Cris is also a big supporter of this board.

If you have got the cash there are several options out there for performance mods. Do the research and talk to Manley for recomondations. FCR's and the 944 kit would be a whole lot of fun ;D Good luck and have fun!

Look forward to meeting you guys and doing some riding.
