if this is the same discount tires that is related to tires.com, then here's another story: we were driving to tahoe through the mojave desert in the dead of night. on the highway in january. all of a sudden the truck drops and sparks start shooting out the back. the rear left wheel had fallen off. we found it 200 feet ahead of us in the desert on the other side of the road. apparently, the lugs broke off, thus disengaging the wheel. why? because my friend got new tires at discount tires and they overtorqued the bolts. so we crashed the night at ridgecrest, $400 later the truck was fixed. 2 miles past mammoth, front right tire gets loose: broken lugs. so even though they have the cheapest tires, their employees are probably not gonna find the cure for cancer anytime soon. of course, i just bought 2 tires from discount last week. neither have fallen off. yet.
