I had a crash at the track yesterday that left a 1.5" diameter dent in my tank :-[. I have two questions: Might the tank be structurally compromised (no paint is chipped) ? Can these dents be pulled out or do people generally replace the tank ?

I'm reallly glad I have frame sliders !

Norm is a name I see associated with dent repair, email him seems to have many satisfied customers. Glad to hear you are OK, what track day was it and did it ruin your day or did you continue?

Thanks for asking It was a go cart track around here...$20 bucks to ride all day--the turns are really tight--- I took a hair pin too fast and basically lost sight of the exit, went wide into the dirt beside the track and ....over the handle bars for me. It was on my 3rd lap, but I did 15 more. I'm OK except my shoulder is hosed up. Didnt hurt at the time but kind of painful now.

I really screwed my shoulder up in a crash, couldn't get my arm above my head. I went to accupuncture and in one session it was totaly healed. It doesn't work on all people but I have had great luck.

Thanks Michael--The tank ding FAQ was just what I needed. Thanks Splinter...I just may have to do that acupuncture--my shoulder (AC joint actually) is still f$%ked up

Just be sure to keep the joint moving. You don't want a 'frozen shoulder' - I had one and it truly sucked. Involved a couple of months going to the Physical Terrorist.
