When you turn your key on does the dash do a fast count down on the lcd? If not it is not virgin. If it does then you need to use the red key to program the new dash, do a search for this. How broken is the dash? You may be able to use your old circut board in the new housing.

Don't know why but this is how she come (factory)
I'll change my lighting, one day, sometime in the future...to red-orange.....and will install custom made gauge faces...I envy your dash lighting....

i'm in the same boat you are, same bike even. once i get it started i'm going to sell it and get another bike without this immobilizer POS! Hate ducati for their anti-theft security device systems and their dealers more for the ridiculous pricing on a new system.

hey yellow, yes,my bike starts, but, is not roadworthy due to a bent front wheel axle....

hey yellow, d, once you get it reflashed, no issues, you can even replace the dashboard with something else...like, http://motogadget.com/en/frameset.html or, http://www.electrosport.com/street/speedometers.php or,
http://www.kosonorthamerica.com/ cllck on northamerica and then gauges and then motorcycles...

hey guys, give a call to desmo-porsche and/or ducati depot or even, send a message to [email protected] to see if your ECUs are reflashable, here're the links,

http://stores.ebay.com/Desmo-Porsche-Ducati-Parts

http://stores.ebay.com/ducatidepot

feel free to keep asking questions...i'll do my best to answer and or help...

try this...

About a year and a half ago I left my bike outside during a NYC summer monsoon overnight, uncovered.
The next morning after the bike was dry it wouldn't start. Lights wouldn't illuminate, fuel pump wouldn't initialize. I noticed water in the gauge cluster, hence there was a leak in the cluster.
I removed the cluster, took it apart and dried out all of the components with a hair drier. I rebuilt the cluster and plugged it in and turned the key but the motor wouldn't turn on.
The needles swept, all of the lights illuminated and the fuel pump initialized but the yellow light kept blinking similar to what's happening to you. Now I have the two BLACK keys and the RED one but no KEY CODE CARD, so what do I do as a last resort before taking it to DUCATI? I disconnected the battery for about a day and reconnected it and whala, she started right back up and haven't had a problem since.
So before you take it to DUCATI, just try disconnecting the battery as this reset the immobilizer on my 05 620M.
