the san jose show did not smell like the san mateo show did ... something about not having cattle in the venue right before the show ;D

I think that you are in the minority that felt that San Jose was better. I preferred the San Mateo location. A large number (over 10) of bikes were stolen from outside the San Jose show, so those people can't be too happy.
The vendors had huge problems with San Jose, as they had to pay disgruntled union employees stupid amounts of money to move their display stuff 100 feet inside.
