OK, so I got this new bike (to me) and it came with only one key.. No Prob, right. local Ducati dealer had a blank ($25, ouch), only it's steel and I cannot find a locksmith that'll touch it. Any suggestion's??

Life's to short to only have one key and loose it.....

ouch dude, DIY!! use a small grinder and cut your own. it'll take some time and you've gotta be REAL careful, but hey, a new skill for the resume ;D

'till you can find someone to cut the key, silca #KW9R should work. it fits some Kawasakis. if you have the key #, you could ask your dealer to exchange the blank for a key cut by number. i would also think your dealer would know someone locally who would cut the key.

I took my genuine Duc blank to my local Ace Hardware which has a pretty decent key/lock concession in the back. They didn't even flinch at the key being steel, nor when I asked if he had any doubts about cutting it since the blank was $26. Cost like $.96 to cut it.
