Spent $17 on a Ducati key blank but haven't found a dealer who will cut key. Admittedly, I've only gone to 2 places though both told me to go to a good locksmith. Not really looking forward to experimenting with $$ blanks. Anyone know a good key cutter in NYC or just outside the city?

Go to a good locksmith.

I've had many keys made over the years. The cheap ones at hardware stores and such are rarely a good fit. The ones made by experienced locksmiths always work well. So let me repeat:

Go to a good locksmith.

Dude $17 bucks! Next time go to a locksmith, Kawasaki key blank & cut $2 bucks...results in $15 bucks left for lunch or beer!!!

Except that a Kawasaki key doesn't get your leathers/helmet checked at Ducati Island.

$17 ? Man, I had to cough up $26 for my blank. But the local hardware store has a good locksmith in the back and it only cost like .93 to get it cut.

i just spent 11.75 for my blank at ducati austin. now i feel a little better. still got to get it cut though.

cut mine at a locksmith recommended by ducati dealership and it works fine. cost $3.
