Anyone have a custom painted Helmet? Looking for ideas for a helmet.

I'm probably wrong but I always heard that painting a helmet weakens it in some way. Is that true only with certain paints or is it completely false? ???

Not completely false. Many polycarbonate can be affected by paint. I think fiber glass is OK, but I would check with the helmet manufacturer.

it depends on what you're painting and the paint used. make sure your painter is aware of this.

I thought so. I work in the automotive business and it's the same way with a lot of the materials the auto makers use. Some materials completely break down when spray paint is used. I think I'll stick to my original colors. [thumbsup]

Here's my dirt helmet. I just did a quick spray can job on it.
