I just signed up for a CLASS Motorcycle School, Standard School for May 21, 2004, at Laguna Seca.

http://www.classrides.com/

I have heard really good things about this school. It's not a "racing" class. It's intended to improve street skills and confidence. It would be fun to have some DML'ers there too...if your bike will pass the sound check :p

sarah, there are differences in the sign-up price... also did you only specify 1 day of class? what's the difference b/t signing up for 1 day vs 2 (what would I be missing if I did 1 day)?

I was thinking of calling to see if we can get a SFBMHA discount as well...

Daffe, I don't know why Willow is cheeper. I chose that date and location because it's close and convenient, and on a day that I already have off. There is an explanation in the FAQ on their site as to why you would want to take two days instead of one. That would be too expensive for me. I've never been on a track, so one day is good for me for starters. I already sent in my deposit, but if you get a SFBMHA discount...they may adjust my balance. I will not be riding the Monster, I don't want to risk not passing the 92 db limit. I'm going to try and scrape my heads!

... if you have your stock exhaust, it will be under the dB limit... just put the stock exhaust back on.

I have Thursday off (May 20)... might do that one instead of Fri... if I take Fri off then I have a 4 day weekend.

I have done Thunder Hill in November and it was excellent! I did Sears Point this week as well... Excellent. Look into using Zoom Zoom or Keigwins. They have a great people who are extremly knowledgable. Laguna Seca is a great track, but if you are going to do a track day keep your stock pipes as they are noise controllers :(

I have done the Class school at Laguna and absolutely enjoyed myself. Reg and his instructors are first rate and if you're a new track rider he is most supportive in giving you a positive first experience. Take advantage of the one on one help from the various instructors on hand. Have them show you around the track and ask lot's of questions. I did the two day deal and it was so worth the extra money if you can somehow swing it. Have fun! :D

I was interested in signing up for one of these days, but they don't have any bikes available for rent.
I've never been on a track yet, so what would I need to do to the bike to have it "track-ready". Do I need to buy slicks?

Is it safe to bring my beloved monster out there without track experience?
