Something Odd happened to me today.....


But let me back up a week.........

A week ago I received my Scotts billet

Maybe you forgot to torque it to spec when you installed it? I've had all kinds of things vibrate loose on the Monster... I safety wire my oil filters for that reason...

How tight do you put the filter on and I assume you oil the gasket
beforehand....don't know anything about Scotts filters....

They don't say if it's got safety wire holes. Looks like you could drill some, but it would probably be best to ask Scotts directly.

Sounds like safety wire would give you the peace of mind that it's not going to vibrate loose nor get loosened by idle hands....

I use a hose clamp around the filter to safety wire it.
