Has anyone gotten their chain/sprocket sets yet? Ive been waiting a month now and haven't heard one word about it. One of you will probably suggest emailing Jeff, which ive done. No response there either. Im sure everything's fine, but at this point I want to know whats up. So if anyone knows anything, post it.

Sorry I havent got back to you yet Kevin. :-[
Here is the scoop.
When the suggestion to do the group buy came up, I checked with Motowheels to see what they could do.
They put together a bundle at a really good price (im guessing getting a lot less than their normal markup), and called their sources to check availability. so far so good.
I collected all the orders, and sent them in on the 13th.
Motowheels placed the orders for the stuff. Front sprockets and chains came in, rears from Sprocket Specialists did not. (we also found out they dont make steel anymore).
After a couple weeks goes by, some of you guys start asking whassup. I ask and am told the hard-anodized ones arent in stock and take 10 days to make. oookayy...
more than 10 days goes by, no sprockets. i ask whassup again and am told from S.S. there are production delays, there is a lack of alum. available....blah blah blah.
Soooo...I still really dont know.
Coupla things you can do.
-if you're not in a hurry, just wait and you will get them eventually.
-get the chain and front without the rear (-$22 + $7 if you had the anodizing)
-cancel the whole thing and get your money back.
you can contact motowheels at [email protected]
or 916-369-2509
Im sorry this turned into such a PITA...the DML isnt getting a cut of this or anything, i just passed on the orders and $$.
What we can do in the future is if a good deal comes up on something, the DML can buy them, and then resell them out of the store. (like the temp gauges)
that way they can ship right away.

Stephano was able to get some of the non hard anodized sprockets from Sprocket Specialist--so those shipped out Friday

We are still waiting for hard anodized sprockets.

In retrospect: That "group buy" was NOT very easy to pull off since we had to go to 4 different suppliers to make one package. Everyone wanted different size sprockets, materials and finishes. In Sprocket Specialists case, the more items you order the longer it takes for them to deliver. They ran out of raw material...blah, blah, blah...

We ordered $3000 in chains and sprockets in advance but did not know what sprockets would be requested.

Jeff I don't think you would have wanted to put all this in stock at the DML in advance because you would be sitting on a bunch of chains and odd sprockets after the group buy was done. The only way to do it was to take the orders like you did and hope the suppliers have what you need.

Next time: do a group buy on slipper clutches...we have 20 in stock...or pressure plates, bar risers, slave cylinders, fuel caps...please no combinations with so many variations.

Now I know why they limit the menu at banquets...

I can live with this option :) So you're saying you have the chain and front sprocket? If thats the case, just send it to me and refund the $22 for the rear sprocket. Does that work?
