with a few additions/variations.

we'll be leaving manhattan early (~8am) as it will be a long ride and want to come home before dark.

I also plan to possibly stop by a fund raiser @ ATVNY in Modena,NY to show support.
Michelle do you know where I can get a detailed NY map that shows roads like 301 etc etc?

Looks like a good ride.... except for 55 miles on route 97.
There are more enticing roads that are worth checking out IMO.

Regardless, i am always game for a scooter ride.

I had some other roads in there on the route I planned for me this weekend. PM me alternative routes and we can put it together :)

Beck,

I have a Hudson Valley map that I got for free at a DESMO event. [thumbsup] You can copy maps from a topographic atlas of NY state, they usually have all the small roads on them.
If you have time in front of a computer just use mapquest and zoom around, helps you learn the areas.
You really can't get lost, no matter where you are on the east coast there is always a sign saying NY (NYC) this/that way ~~~> lol

good luck! I stole the idea from a German streetfighter designer [laugh]
Oh, I'd love to! Please count me in, Michelle.

I was just up there last weekend for the first time by Kingston then up to Cooperstown. What a fantastic area! The weather sucked bull cookies and I froze my pebbles, but I had a great time none the less. Even got to camp for a night. But haulin' all that camping gear, saddle and tail bags on the back of my quacker was a real drag, literally. So I was thinking of doing the DESMO Catskill route by myself this weekend, sans luggage and gear, to really enjoy the roads. Knowing now you're planning a DML ride... what a great opportunity to hang wit da gang!
ok I'm putting Moto_Bella's (Dory's) route together with mine, reversed mine and we can meet her and scottroxx?? @ High Point at the Ranger Station? Is that good? Scott if there somewhere else you'd rather meet let me know. I assume your girlie is riding with? ( that would make 3 of us, woohoo lol)

I'll end up in Harriman and possibly depending on how frozen I am, do my 301 route back home.

Klink, we can meet in Fort Lee, we can gas up on the other side of the GWB, unless you have another suggestion.
Fort Lee? Isn't Texas a little off route?
*drum roll - crash*

Spot on, Michelle. But you know I'm a bit "meeting place impaired" and slightly stupid. You'll need to help me out with the actual spot in Jersey. Something I can Google Earth or find on a map. I should be able to take it from there.

I've PM'd you my secret, ultra snappy, supper duper, high jinx, confabulated email address for prompt and stupendously speedy service. It's good and delicious. But be careful, it's high in calories.
Count me in -

I will go as long as I can then maybe slab it back.

How long mile-wise ?

(I can read the route later tonight... but just curious)

I can meet folks up anywhere from PIP exit 2 to anywhere in Harriman, or north...

I live in Montvale, near Pearl River.

Let me know - only a few more sets of weekends left....

i live 25-30 min. south of 17 and the beginning of the thruway. high point is about an hour. what time we gonna start, u know how many miles that loop is?
i would also love to tag along and meet the NY Monster Crew. I live off exit 10 of the PIP. Just need the meeting place and time. Looking forward to meet and ride with you all.
What time do you guys think you'll be going through Claryville?
The loop looks like it will be around 300 miles, give or take, ending in Harriman. I'm keeping my route open as I don't know how chilly it will be. From Harriman if I'm not frozen yet I will cross the Bear Mtn bridge and do my 301 route and probably tack on another 100 miles or more on the way home to NYC.

I'm looking to leave NYC around 8am, and meet klink @ the first gas station when you first get on the Palisades (last in NJ) @8:30. Take off @ 8:45

Klink (Michael): I will PM or call you tomorrow to give you exact directions of the meet spot, as I know you like to play with Google Earth ;)

Scottroxx: We can meet you @ Tiorati Circle in Harriman @ 9:30? Stands up 9:45. Is this a better meet spot?... (I'm trying to think of all the rest room spots lol)

We can meet up with Moto_Bella(Dory) @ High Point ~ 10:45am. (does this sound right?)

EvilSteve (Dan), I don't know what time we will be getting to Claryville, perhaps Dory can call you when we are ready to leave High Point as she will have a better idea of how long it will be, if you want to meet us up there.

Others that want to meet up can meet us at one of the above locations.

I don't really feel comfortable with groups larger than 5-6, the larger the group the more work and less fun it becomes to keep the group together. If the group becomes larger we can split into 2 groups. How does this sound?

If you're planning on riding with us please PM me your phone number and where you are meeting us.
