Any thoughts,
I'm doing a valve adjustment and I cant seem to get the closing shims off the end of the valve stem.
I have removed the split rings and the closing shims turn freely, but at the top of each one of my valves there seems to be a thin line about 3mm from the top of the valve stem the prevents the shim from being removed. The line preventing the shim from coming off is on all the valves and is too even to be a wear mark. There are also some stampings around the top of the valve stem. Something like EK5 or somthing similar to this.
Ideas? My local Duc shop is closed Mondays.
The bike is a 99 M900s with V2 heads and 13,000.
Thanks,
Ted
