Hey, Guys. First post, but I'll skip my intro for now.

I'm new to Ducs, but have 250,000 miles on Japanese bikes. I've always believed in breaking in my bikes a bit on the quick/hard side...after a couple of hundred miles of going through many heat cycles and varying the rpm alot. No lugging as well.

Anything I outta know about Ducs?

I am totally in love, by the way. My last bike was a ZX-12R. It feels remote and soulless by comparison. I'll never go back. Bella! 8)

I'd say abuse it as much as possible without straying TOO far from the recommended RPM maximums.

Congrats on the bike .. the S4R is a smack ride.

Make sure it's got a yuasa battery in it ..

Avoid highway rides at a constant steady RPM.
Dont lug the engine at really low rpms.
Shift a lot, work the mechanics.
Keep the RPMs moving. I even rock the throttle a little.
Dont redline it, but dont baby it either.
Change the oil sooner rather than later.
