Speaking of the Baja 1000, for all your gearheads out there:

Did this three years ago now and am probably going to be doing it again next summer. It's unreal, one of the coolest experiences of my life. Cabo's a dump though, so don't plan to spend extra days vacationing there (in my opinion).

The race begins Thursday morning 11/16. 1st bike team should finish around midnight. Several Husky teams running this year!

For those stuck at work, listening to the Weatherman's radio feed is fascinating. I think this link will get you to his broadcast: http://www.race-dezert.com.

Also, off-road.com follows the race pretty closely and live tracking can be found at www.irctracking.com/#

And you might want to watch "Dust To Glory" to get you in the mood.

Well if the "test track" is $250 I would imagine the four day is at least 1k, maybe more like 2k with hotels? Not a great web site but looks like fun.

Haha, sorry Baron, I wish, but way off. Sad to say that I think the 4-day is like, 3500, and the 7-day is like 5k. You basically have to call them and get an info packet sent to you.

But if you can afford the trip, you won't think it's a waste of money after all's said and done. The price includes all hotels and meals too though so that makes it *slightly* better.

Anyhow... lots of you guys do a lot more crazy motorhead/race stuff than I ever have/will so you might have opportunities to do something similar for cheaper, but I wouldn't bet much on it. Racing through the desert and cactus forests in go-karts with porsche engines is soooo much fun.
