I picked up the Icon Squad backpack (New model for this year). the helmst pocket folds up and into the pack when not in use. Its great, I can fit my pants, gloves, helmet, and boots in there for my morning commute. Granted its pretty big when all full of gear, but its a short walk from the parking lot to the office.

Also the pack zips up at the chest so it sits tight on your back and won't act like a chute trying to rip you off the back of the bike!! Especially at over 90 mph! >:D

At $80 bucks it was a pretty good deal [thumbsup]

Thanks..I forgot about that one!

I've seen it before.  I'm wondering if I could get away with that backpack at the airport though.  It might be too big for a carry-on??

I found a few more.

I noticed on the Tumi Ducati also..is there even a Duc logo on it (besides the keychain)?! For that money..it should have Duc all over it!!

I've got the Oakley O Pack 3.0 and it's a great cycle-pack. Perfectly formed for the wind to slide right over your pack without much resistance at all. Not to mention the zippers and covers are designed like it was intended for bike use.

It'll fit a helmet with quite a bit of room to spare. Not to mention the extra compartments. It's the only thing I use for riding.

It's not as big as the kitchen sink pack, but it's $100 cheaper. And if you don't mind your helmet hanging off the back it has lots of little hook things on it too. I'll often carry a spare jacket in the pack and a helmet attached if I'm picking up the girl.

It's not specifically designed for a helmet pack, but it plays the part well for not much $$

Thanks for the input MNM!! I was checking that pack out when they first came out. I'll have to take a look at it again! I can always get a small helmet bag to put over it when it in that pack for extra padding.

The last two are the jacket and helmet I stick in the pack, and then the pack with the jacket and helmet in it. It's a tight fit for both of them, but it works. Of course, anything you want to bring with you has to be taken out of the pack or strapped to the back of it.

My summer jacket (pictured) is a Joe Rocket textile with Leather elbows and Shoulders. It is fully armored, so I'm guessing it takes up as much space as a typical leather jacket, but it's probably more flexible, so if you want to cram a leather jacket in it might not work, depending on how big your helmet / jacket are.

I still think it's a great pack though, it does wonders for me.

That's a cool pack! It's not the one I was thinking of. I was thinking about that first Oakley pack that they came out with a few years back.

That would def. come in handy in Italy for storing all my gear and walking around to see the sites.

Thanks for the pics MNM!

I'm going to the Oakley store tonight in S'Dale Mall!

I ride occaisionally with a surplus LC-2 Alice pack. It's big enough to hold a helmet inside or you can `biner your helmet to the outside if the pack is full.

It's fairly comfortable to ride/walk with, and cheap. Used ones go for $20 -$30, new for ~$50. I've had mine for 9 or 10 years (it was my constant companion all through college) and who knows how long it got used in the Army, and it's still solid.

Well..digging through all my Eddie Bauer luggage & packs (wife got awesome discounts being the manager in Flagstaff, Novi & Mesa), I discovered that my helmet fits in an old backpack so I went and got this new Oakley rolling pack.  Tons of storage!!   [thumbsup]  I also picked up a cheap, fleece-lined helmet bag for extra padding.

Offering a full 3800 cubic inches of storage space, this adaptable design combines a main case with a detachable top bag that folds together for briefcase-style carrying. Convenience features range from a removable Dopp/toiletry bag to an alloy I.D. pocket. The telescoping handle locks into position, and the wheels are engineered with cartridge bearings for smooth rolling. D-rings and webbing loops let you haul external cargo. The detachable top bag features a removable pouch pocket, a lash pocket with webbing, and zip closures on each chamber. Import.
DIMENSIONS: 22" L x 14" W x 9" H (56cm x 36cm x 23cm)
Fits perfectly within the airline dimensions!!

Thanks for all the input & suggestions!  [thumbsup]

BTW..johnnyc..of course I was just kidding..b*stard! [cheeky]
