Apartment in Pheonix area

I am looking to rent a furnished apartment in the Pheonix area. Looking for a decent location to travel to the 32nd Street area to work. I guess I am trying to figure out what areas are ok to live in and which to stay away from and best to commute to this area. I have searched and called all around the Pheonix area (for a rental on the net) and am trying to decide which calls to return or even more places to look if none of these leads pan out. Any help would be great.

32street covers about 22miles in length... where at on 32nd street. Assuming you mean in Phoenix and not a suburb?
Sorry..I had no idea 32nd was so long. The job is near Indian school road.
32nd street and indian school is east valley area. Look in the East valley but not as far south as Mesa or Chandler. Scottsdale and Phoenix proper is your best bet to be close to work.
Thanks. I will refine the search area some more. Areas to stay away from that come to mind ?. Any help is appreciated.

BTW its 41 with rain here now. :'(
You might consider north Phoenix- I am at 32nd St. & Thunderbird, and work at 32nd and Camelback. The freeway 51 goes n/s around the mountain preserve and I can get to work in about 15-20 minutes. I know there are several apartment buildings around here, but don't know if they are good or bad. My neighborhood is so/so but I have not had any trouble. If you can find something near Shea and 32nd St. it will be an easy drive. The 51 is nice because it seems there are way less accidents as compared to I-10 and I-17.

Shorts at 80 degrees that is crazy. 80 degrees is cold here, I am in jeans, boots, jacket, gloves, and something to cover my head..... no wait that is when I am riding.
