I don't know why I get myself into these situations . . . lol ;D

But a female rider friend of mine has thrown down the challenge to drag the Monster at WSID (www.wsid.com.au) on the 6th Dec 06. But get this, she rides a GPX250 !!

Yes, a GPX250 !

I can't chicken out on the challenge, like its against a chic on a GPX !!! [cheeky]

Has anyone done it ?
I've dragged my car there a couple of years ago, I guess its more fun with a bike but you just have to make sure that front end stays down. lol

What time do you all think a 620ie would do down the quarter ???

This is one for Pesduc. He did just that about a week ago, although not against a chic on a GPZ250 - not that he admitted to, anyway.
yeah, I have!
and it was mint fun [thumbsup]

(and yes Geoff....... i will never admit to it [laugh])
13.8 hey !!
Thats something to aim for !

I'll probably baby it and get a mid 14s. ;D
you're on as hiding to nothing if you beat her as it's "only against a chick on a 250"

so get out there and really kick arse!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

god help you if you stall it on the line.

just roll off the clutch to start and then really belt it.

13.8 was one of my slower times.
towards the end of the night I was in the low 13's, nearly cracking it into the 12's.
it was my first run on a bike too. getting the start right is super important.
I still couldnt get it right though!
the first gear change is the worst too. dunno if its just my bike, but first into second has always been like hitting a pothole.
with practice and maybe a 14T front sprocket i reckon I can get those times down.

definatly no need to dont baby it though!

Ride it like its stolen!

you using the clutch for the shifts? if so, try without the clutch, reackon it would be faster, but hey what do I know, I'm just a silly goldfish!
my friend is trying to crack 16s on her GPX !!!! ;D
But thats when she was on her L's !

I tell you what . . . . I'll never hear the end of it if i stuff it up ! [laugh]
Even if you stuff up I think you'll still kick her arse.

Nah, no clutch.
thats the problem.... I cant get a smooth shift into 2nd. Its a real 'clunk'.
All the other gears are perfect and it feels seemless changing after that.
well, better keep practising ;D
First to second without the clutch can be a bit harsh. But, you just need to pull the clutch a fraction. It unloads the gearbox just enough and soaks up any roughness.
G
I havn't noticed the harshness, but I guess youre right.

Geoffb you are right, a light feathering of the clutch could fix it for joe!
13.6 was the best i can do !! . . and consistent.
damnit !!!

My reaction time sucks !!
The front end kept lifting !!!
I had a ball though . . . . I reckon 12.5 is achieveable, my slowest terminal was when I did my best time !, so there is room for improvement !

I'll post pics soon !
here is a pic of me taken by a mate ! ;D

My salute to cagers !!!! [laugh]
