Looking at building a custom ratbike with ARC fabrication's ratbike kit. 1000DS motor with the custom aluminum frame. Does anyone know how this bike handles and rides compared to the stock frame? I know it's gonna be tons lighter, but was curious what the handling characteristics were like and if it was decent for the street as well as the track.







I'm also torn between the donor bike. Is it best to start with the 1000 DS supersport motor or something like a 999 four valve deal?

Ease of maintenance and street power would be better than raw track power for me as a rider.

I think you mean Ti frame.

Doug's bikes steer very quickly, and have a higher seat position which puts the weight forward. He also has modified the engine mounting to help with this. I have ridden his chrome-moly framed, 748 engine bike.

Go with the 1000 DS motor. My .02
