I have a pickup with a shell on it and am looking for something compact to tow my bike when needed.

Anybody used one of these

If so how do you like it, or do you recomend something else?

I've got a thread on it from a couple months ago. I'll try to dig it up!

I have one for my dirt bike that I use with my GMC Envoy with towing package. My .02 is that my Yamaha 250F @ 230 wet is just about all I would put on the back, as far as weight goes. A small trailer would be better for 350+lbs. I can pick up the tongue on my 20' boat but don't ask me to pick up my S2R!
I had a Joe Hauler that I used for my Husqvarna, a Yamaha YZF600, and a Yamaha XT650 and it worked fine. I sold it and bought a Moto Tote which handles more weight and a 190 rear tire. I have used that for the Husqvarna and my S4R. I like it much better than a trailer. I can't even tell the bike is back there, but I have a pretty heavy truck.
i'd rather someone smash the back of my truck than my duc. but if you absolutely cant put it in the bed that looks like a good way to go
The Motojackrack on my X5 works well for dirtbikes. Used one for 5 years. We took a CRF450 and a Boston Whaler 13ft (2 inch ball mount on the motojackrack) 900 miles from NC to Northern MI twice. The bike weight is 230lbs. The boat 575lbs with 50lbs tongue weight. I would be concerned about putting 450 lb motorcycle on my truck for any distance unless it was a full sized rig and rated for 500 lbs minimum. Get three friends to stand on the ball first and see what your springs can handle. Remember the bike is back another 12-15 inches so there is a leverage effect too. A great idea if your vehicle is up to the task.
Thanks for all the info.

I am still looking and will post (with pics) when i finally buy something
