I'm going to be moving there in a month or two & I'd like to hook up with some fellow Hooligans & hit the roads.

Ducatz,

My parents have a time share on the island although I've never been, my father says it would be a cool place to ride. The season is alot longer than here in Michigan I can tell you that much. This coming year will actually be the first year I will be able to get down there (late February early March) I planned on trailering the bike down to do some riding while its still snowing up here. The weather is usually mid 70's by then.

PROBLEM!

Much of the development on Hilton Head is private and does not allow motorcycles on the roads. The main drag is OK and some of the residential areas are fine, but you can't go into any of the "plantations". Have dinner reservations or need to catch a boat for a sunset tour: "No problem. Park at the gate on the main road and take a taxi in. And no we will not watch or be responsible for the bike." Nice place but definitely not motorcycle friendly.

Hilton Head is definitely a beautful place. Lots of retirees there and LOTS of money....so like Doc says......not to motorcycle friendly I bet. Traffic has always been pretty heavy when I visited with lots of the stop and go. Some police presence there as well. Good luck to you and be sure to get to Savannah often........
