Another Fork Question

696 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Mark1305
Couldn't find the answer with a search back through a year, so:

When just changing the fork oil in the Showa non-adjustables, it looks like I only need to remove the top bolt, compress the spring and remove top bolt from damper rod, then release and remove spring and spring tube and pump out the oil.

Am I correct that it is not necessary to disturb the bottom bolt except to remove the internals for service beyond oil and/or spring?

Thanks Chris! Oil levels are normally without springs if I read the Haynes correctly?? Did I read a recommendation from you somewhere to go xx ml over stock amount, or xx mm above stock recommended level?
