Yep, this is DUCky in Amsterdam. Skier is right! Much nicer to rent a bike and go for a ride. What better rush than to ride a Ducati?

I think you will find plenty of places to smoke and chill. I gave up the first when I was 16 but I still chill ;D

Have a good time! Try and spend some time in the 'Vondelpark'. If the weather is nice that is the place to be.....

Hey Ducky- out of curiosity, is the crime level really low in Amsterdam due to the relaxed laws regarding drugs/prostitution? I would love to visit some time to experience the freedoms that you have there. "American" freedom is kinda overratted at times. We dont have nude beaches, cant smoke the cheeba in public, and crime rates are through the roof. You got the clowns that protest everything they can, even the soldiers/government that is here to support their freedom to whine. Kinda makes me ill at times. I remember reading in the paper a few years back about a murder in Amsterdam , and the whole city shut down for a moment of silence. Very intersting I thought. Check out Bowling For Columbine. It really illustrates the difference between the States and other countries in regards to violent crime. Really got me thinking... btw- I am 25% Dutch if that counts for any extra credit points. I wonder if I would get a free doobie if I went out there for vacation..... ::)

actually I just cant wait to get off work. I work longer so I can make more money so I can buy more drugs.......
I should have been a 70's love child. I would have been right there with Captain America rollin down the road on my chopper, blazin up every chance I had. I guess it is the same now other than I ride a Monster, but dont do the bad stuff when I am riding. That freaks me out... :-[

A friend of mine lives in Amsterdam and he confirms the low crime rate, it is a great place to live. As far as Bowling for Columbine IMO it should be watched by everyone in this country, it may change some minds.

Bowling For Columbine , who would wast there time to watch that crap . Mike Moore is a stupid fat ass . his movies are not documentarys of facts but are filled with silly anti-gun propagada . a real wast of time and no one should watch that movie in any country

PS: when i was in Amsterdam back in 85 the place was a sh$t hole filled with drug addiets , prostitutes male and female . the only place worse was paris .

TonyJ, about the Dutch....

I would say that together with the Ozzies, the Dutch are the most relaxed and tolerant people in the world. It is all good over here. There is much less violent crime here. There is still a hard drugs problem, but softdrugs are OK and everybody is cool with it. Even countries like Switserland are now following our lead and legalising the use of softdrugs.

If you want to go visit a prostitute, you are free to do so. Prostitutes actually pay taxes here in the Netherlands. This has helped to get this out of the underground scene as well, with a positive effect on hygene and safety.

You still have to watch your back in Amsterdam (you don

AMsterdam is very cool I must say. Tolerance for greenery is at an all time high and I'm feeling the scene. 80'ish, hip-hop, everything is all good-type scene. I've seen about 4 monsters so far which is cool but I'd rather smoke up than ride and have to concentrate. Thanks for the tip. I'll check out the scene this evening. Heinekens are most delicious out here too!
Anyhow, peace.
