Ive located an 02 M750 Dark thats still at the dealer with no miles for $6650, with the 2 year warranty. Its also fuel injected. Does this sound like a deal? Are there any issues with the 02's that i should know about? How about any issues with fuel injection? Im practically salivating over this machine :)

there's nothing wrong with that bike or the EFI. 800 has more power, though. :) M750ie is unique model/year. that's pretty neat.

Ok, so one vote for finding the $$$ to get this bike, i think :) Whats the difference between the Dark and i.e.? This bike is listed as a "Dark" which i know has a matte black tank, and black frame. Black bikes = Cool :)

02M750D- They ROCK!

This is where the problems arise; how many mods can you do to a bike!? ::)

I bought my 02 750Sie for $7000, and I thought that was a good deal. So for $6650 it's a no-brainer in my book!! You will love it. The only problem that I have come across is trying to figure out what mods I should spend my money on first....
GO GET THAT BIKE!!

Don't take this seriously....... :D

You will need a laptop to download your computer information for your bike.

I actually think they are very nice. A woman I met has a bootiful Dark 900 ie. I took it for a spin and thought it was very snappy :)
There are some minor cosmetic differences (no seat cowl, no fairing [I think, but it changes year to year]) and a few functional differences, like non-adjustable forks and a different swingarm. The Dark models are usually $500 less than the non-Darks. A good place to do a reality check on prices is at Wilson's: http://www.wilsonsmc.com/2003.htm

Good link. It confirmed the $6650 as a good deal :) So the $500 less for the darks, is that for lack of acutal paint? Non adjustable forks on the darks, is that really a big deal? I figured forks would be a set and forget sort of thing. Even non adj. forks would be 10x stiffer than what im riding now (250ninja-very squishy but still fun)

Kevin,

Thanks for the kudos on my ride. No leakage problems for me in the first 4000 miles...

Great looking bike!

The main reasons the Darks are cheaper is the lack of the fairing and seat cowl, and on the 620 the Dark only has a single-disc front brake (which works damn fine, thank you!). I think Ducati does a great job offering the Dark as a slightly less expensive alternative. If I'd have found that deal I'd have snapped it up. Go for it!

Not to mention the non adjustable suspension.

Hey Humbaba,
Yeah, brand new, 1 mile on it, $7000!
They had it listed for $7300, I talked them down to an even $7000 + Tax & Title. I guess they really wanted to get rid of it. When I was in there I was looking at an 02' Tr*umph Speed Triple with 600 miles on it for $8300, Then I saw the Duc and never looked back!
