I have been having problems with my bike stalling and feeling fuel starved. I run an inline fuel pump with the stock fuel pressure regulator. After simple problems i narrowed it down to either my fpr or my fuel pump is failing.

I just replaced the fpr with an adjustable one and a pressure readout. My bike starts fine and a few moments later, my fuel pressure drops to nearly zero and of course the bike stalls. So i am thinking i need a new fuel pump. Only thing is, i bought this one new (MSD inline fuel pump) less than 2 years ago, and have only used it maybe 2 or 3 thousand miles.

How the hell would my pump wear out so fast? anyways, what do you think before i pop another $100 into my fuel system?

(no, my hoses arent kinked, its not heat from the headers)
Thanks

i seems like there is something clogging the line and when you turn it off what ever it is releases from the line. I would dump the contents from the tank, then clean it throughly. remove the lines and clean those too! check the pump by putting it in water to see if it has pressure and usually thats all youll need to do. after you put it all back together fill it up with good gas and run a bottle of fuel system cleaner.
