Almost went down this AM :(

I take this turn ALL THE TIME. For some reason, this AM, my rear tire slid out some...but I was able to recover.

Haven't gone down on this bike yet!

Those are the works turns as your guard is more likely to be let down for a familier turn. Good work keeping the duc off the pavement.
obvious questions but... tire condition? air pressure? you said AM.. slightly damp road conditions?
tires are still fairly new. I only have 3.5K on them. Air is good too. Road was dry.

I may have just hit some gravel or something. I dunno.

Either way...all is way thus far. Off to the bike shop to buy some more toys!

This (high-siding) has happened to me quite a few times when i run into the white painted lane on the road. Fortunately i save it all of the times.

The first few times the back end got squirrelly on me, it scared the crap out of me, but now it only comes close to scaring the crap out of me.

Holy crap! Me too! The first couple of times I thought I was gonna lay a diamond out but, now I throttle out (smoothly and carry on like nothing happened.

I guess that's experience for ya! [thumbsup]

DarkJedi, good job on keeping it up on 2 wheels. I bet tomorrow you'll be a bit more alert going into the corner (not that you weren't this morning ;)).

I'm not yet good enough to use the white part as my own lane... [thumbsup]

Hope I'm as smooth as you guys when this happens, which I fully expect it to at some point.
Hey glad you only "almost" went down. The other day i was riding around the same roundabout I ride about twice a week. I am in a Farming area and we have a lot of cattle trucks around here. One must have been on the roundabout just before me and dropped a lot of "watery stuff" out of it. Slide reminded me a lot of my MX days. Sh#t happens. If your not used to sliding buy/borrow/steal a dirt bike and get some practice in. Saved me a heap of times. Stay safe out there.
Glad to hear that you were able to recover.

Ya, I made a major error in going into that turn THIS AM. I got fixated on the curb at the apex. ???

Oh well, today was MUCH better! Can't wait for the weekend. A few pals and I are going riding with Clark's hamburger joint as our target! WOOT!!!

Man...I wish my wife would get her bike fixed already so she can start riding again :(
"twist of the wrist" says that sliding be bike is essential for lower lap times...

3.5k is fairly new? The first rear tire on my bike only lasted a little over 4k. It was a BT014 - trying out the BT020 now to see if I can get a few more miles on it.

Found a new hazard to watch out for the other day myself - freshly cut grass. Didn't think much of it until my back-end got squirrelly. A big bunch of that stuff is awful slippery.
I have attached a pretty cool video. There is a shot right at the middle of the video where a bike is coming up from behind and goes into a corner. His back wheel kicks out a couple times, causing the bike to stand up. The end result is...well...worse off they what happened to you.
