I know I've asked this before. Does anyone have a source for an anodized aluminum bolt kit (red) for an M900 engine? One that's reasonably priced? The one listed on Motowheels seems to be permanently out of stock. Hotnuts.com is nice, but only lists a kit for the M750. I thought it should be nearly the same, but evidently not (according to their customer service). Yoyodyne is just too ridiculously expensive for a dress-up item.

Any help out there? TIA.

There is a huge difference in quality with the alum bolt kits. I'd stay away from the bolts LP and a few other places sell. They break off going in...

We stock the individual Pogipolini bolts (the only aluminum bolts I would consider) but we don't have all the right sizes to make up a complete kit anymore (esp. in red).

Actually, I meant tastynuts.com, not hotnuts.com. Sorry. Same story, though; nothing for the 900.

Guess you're right. Just kind of a pain in the arse vs. buying a complete kit ... except I can't find one.

Good call. Checked Red Racing. They do have kits available. Unfortunately, the bolts are only available in aqua green. Uggghhhh.

LP bolts bad stay away!!!, I realy hate to bad mouth other companys, however I speak from experience. I have a set RED Auliminum bolts from LP. They were free to me, But still think I got ripped off. They fade very fast. Also they break very easliy. Remember you get what you pay for.

: Alloy engine bolt kit source

I think I found a source of Poggipolini ergal aluminum bolts that are in preassembled kits in Italy. I'll let you know when they come in. I'm trying to get engine kits in red, silver, black and gold. Let me know if you are interested.

I'd be interested. Probably silver; maybe black.

Poggipolini is the company that made the titanium "Foggy" plaque on my tank.

??? ??? ??? ??? I can't even believe that anyone with any common sense would be stupid enough to use aluminum bolts would replace anything that was designed from the factory to be STEEL. If weight is important to you and options of color to accent your bike, then Titanium is you only alternative. Titanium can be anodized just as aluminum can and looks great.

"stupid?"

I believe all we are talking about are sidecase cover screws. Installed with a little anti-seize, I don't see this option lacking "common sense". Relax.

Yes, because everything the "factory" does is as it should be

And, thanks for suggesting we're stupid. What product is it that you produce again that I won't be purchasing?? LOL.

NOW THATS NOT NICE. I can't believe anyone who is trying to sell products on this web site would call its viewers stupid. Bad move monstrack. And to think I recommend your mirrors to people. I guess I am stupid. I'll stop.

Your are right and maybe Stupid isn't the best description, I apologize for the comment. In reagrads to aluminum bolts, they dod not offer the strength that a HEAT TREATED BOLT offers and this is not a Ducati Factory issue. Waht is the real need to cahnge this anyway???? I am baffled by this!!

1-damage done dude.

2-If you have to ask, you just don't get it. You are just waisting your time here.

3-No matter what people put on this board, one should never be refered to as stupid. You may be smarter/better/more competent. But in the end I am a consumer and a lost sale for you.
