I finally received and installed my new exhaust.
First let me say that I didn’t chose this exhaust system based on looks or performance enhancing. I chose it strictly based on what I hoped it would sound like.
The stock exhaust sounds pathetic in my opinion. Like a fuking Vespa or something. I could hear way more valve noise than exhaust.
I figured that since it deletes the stupid catalytic converter and the mufflers are a straight through design with openings five times larger than the stock scooter tips, it’s got to sound better!
I mean I bought a Ducati mostly because of what these v motors sound like (or are supposed to).

so, I couldn’t be happier! It sounds bad ass! It snarls and there’s lots of crackling and popping. Maybe for some that’s not what they are looking for? But I was.
The quality of the components is totally first rate.
Everything fit together perfectly.
I removed the stick setup and installed this in about an hour.
That cat has to weigh 15lbs! So if the bike is lighter, then that’s awesome!
I’m not going to do a sound clip because I’m 100% certain that an iPhone won’t do it justice.
If I can answer any questions I’d be happy to but I swear, hearing the bike now just officially made me stoked on my purchase.

from what ive read cat delete/mid pipe change has the most impact on the sound. can you confirm or deny this?
the reason im asking is cat delete pipe costs 200eur while slipon mufflers are 1k+

As somebody who has installed and experimented with both a slip-on exhaust as well as a decat link pipe I can confirm that the biggest sound deadening device within the exhaust system is the stock catalytic converter pipe. Remove that, and even the stock exhaust sounds pretty nice. With that said, an aftermarket exhaust will also enrich the exhaust note.

So your running that cat delete with no tune, correct? Did you notice a difference in performance. Gain or loss? How is the Temps now when riding? Thanks for info. Thinking of getting the same.
Correct, no tune as of yet. I feel like the bike has more torque but that could just be my brain being so happy that it sounds so much better and like it should have more torque. Ironic that you should ask about temps because I feel like it runs cooler now and that’s something that I hadn’t anticipated. But it makes sense that without the cat heating up the exhaust to burn off excess, that it would be radiating less heat.

I didn’t run the bike with just the mid pipe and stock mufflers so I’m not sure. I replaced all at the same time.
Looking at the Akrapovic mufflers compared to stock, they are way less restrictive.
To say that this setup sounds like a completely different motorcycle is almost an understatement.
There is a lot of popping and crackling on downshifts. I dig it but I could get that some may not.

Hello...
I if remove the cat , do I definitely need to re-map?? or not important????
My shop said there is no real negative effect on the engine and although you are not getting the full benefits of the much better flowing exhaust without te-mapping/ tuning, it still is running great.
my bike is not throwing any codes either.

from what i understand, theoretically, relaxing exhaust without remap makes bike run lean. and running lean reduces engine cooling which is a bad thing.
but then again im not a mechanic and in real life these changes might turn out being negligible

Did they come with removable db killers? From what i read the Akrapovic slips on with the link pipe punch out 106.5 Db🤣

tons or europe stores sell them but seeing you are in autralia id look for local one to avoid paying import charges. my akoropovic link pipe comes from EM MOTO | Accessories, Spare Parts, Motorcycle Clothing but im in EU so no VAT or shipping charges.
Did the Akrapovic link pipe fit perfectly ? Coz i read somewhere that there is 3-4mm difference . How long has it been since you installed it ? Did some error popup ?

stock cat pipe diameters are 45mm input, 40mm output.
akrapovic is 45mm input, 45mm output.
arrow is 45mm input, 40mm output.

akrapovic is overall better quality but you will need a custom job on output pipe. also length wise it is a bad fit, too short.
arrow fits good. close to perfect actually. my suggestion is go with arrows.
