Are you talking about rear preload?

You can adjust that one with a drift punch and a hammer. Even when you have the right wrench, the punch is often easier.

The two big nuts (I don't know what else to call them) on the rear shock that when screwed down to add preload are really stuck together. We tried breaking them apart to free them to add more preload to the rear but they won't budge. I was thinking if we had the proper wrench we could free them, but maybe we need to get a solid punch in there are whack away, how does that sound?

I think the technical term is 'spanner nut'....

My buddy had the same problem with his Triumph T595. If you've got two moderately coordinated people, two punches and two hammers, you can give it the 'ol 1-2-3-'hit'. Worked for us.

Helps to lube the threads with penetrating oil first.
