Anyone tried this? Had some work done over the weekend and the shop owner and I eyeballed some 900SS rearset. Looks as though they'll line right up to the Monster mounting points.

Might be a neat, inexpensive mod. Anyone tried it? If not, I'll give it a whirl.

They will fit but the riding position is a little extreme. The pegs are very high. I have a set for sale if you want to give it a try.

The guy's got a bunch he'll sell for $50 a set, so don't need there, but thanks.

Higgie: How does she like the foot position of those pegs? I'm tall and getting my feet further back is a good thing, though way up higher probably isn't.

I'm thinking of putting on a GP shifter and doing away with the shift rod altogether.

ooooh this one's of interest to me too, being 6'4" and all. I'd like a way to get my feet further back too without having to spend $500 - but higher up is bad.

hated them. had to make frequent stops to uncramp her kness (she's a towering 5'5").
she was overjoyed to get the roomy S&P's mounted.
i would recommend them as a cheap fix for a track bike, but not for the street.

Are the S&P rearsets more comfortable than the stock rearsets (i.e., further back, *not* higher than stock)? Or are they at least in the same position as stock? I'm looking for some new rearsets that look better than stock, but will not raise the pegs. Suggestions?

the S&P's for the pilot are further back and higher... there's more bend to your knee's so your legs are more cramped than stock (well if you're 6'1"). the one thing that is more comfortable about the S&P's for the pilot is that they're narrower so you don't get all pigeon toed with the wide stock pegs and narrow tank. the S&P passenger pegs are more comfortable than stock because they just move the peg forward. just part of the sacrifice for ground clearance.

don't even bother with the 900ss pegs on a monster... they'll be way high and very far back to make a very uncomfortable ride. it's not even worth the $50 to find out. i tried out my ss brackets on the s4 for shits and giggles during a winter.

I can do without the extra ground clearance (at least for now - not scraping any hard parts yet). Do any of the other rearsets, such as Cycle Cat, Rizoma, FBF, Protek, Arrow, RCM, etc. allow for enough adjustment to get the pegs at/near the stock height?
