well, I tore apart the tail section of the 675 yesterday, then today Steve and I went out and started hacking away!!! [clap] [laugh]

these are the before pics.....

after pics...

bits and pieces taken off....

Whatcha all think??... the only thing I don't like so well is there was no where to hide the wires since we took the plastic bit off, but we can work on that.

Excuse me....may I come in here please...?
yes???
Thanks - Hi DucnHar! I too am the proud new owner of a 675 :D, and haven't yet figured out how to clean up that incredibly ugly license plate thingy. I was looking at the pics of how you did that, but could you explain what you did as well?

yes... no problem

This is what I did... tools needed are a dremmel with a cutting wheel and grinder and a drill..

1) cut off the " lattice " we just cut the two small pieces, that way we didn't have to cut completeely thru 4 inches of metal, much easier and just as good. then used the grinder to soften the points that are left.

2) bend the flat piece of metal that the turn signals were hooked to, up and back a bit.

3) drill holes in the bent up flat piece to attach the plastic license plate holder to....

4) now....if you want the stock signals like mine, you either have to modify them or get a different plate holder.

the stock signals have an off set , and because you bent that flat plate up, will not fit with the flat plastic stock plate holder, unless you take that off set off the turn signals and apply something like this...

after market signals will probably work with no problem.

We used a bracket we had laying around from the Speed Four, which had an off set to it, to allow room for the stock signals.

Now will did eliminate the license plate light, but if you bend that flat plate " down " instead of " up " you may have room for the plate light...

I have priority lights for my night riding, which has the turnsignal lights lighted all the time for running lights and also come on with the brake light. So there is always light around my plate, not legal, but better then nothing.

I did see aftermarlet led lights that fit on the bolts that hold the plate on that shine down on the plate, thats another option.

SheMonster, feel free to pm me with any questions....are you a member of Triumph675.net??

Hope this helps!!

Deb ;D

Thank you!!! Yes, I am on triumph675.net as well (same screen name), but have yet to figure out how to effectively navigate that forum.
the socket size for all the bolts for tha tail section that need to be removed is 8mm( it helps to have an extension for the socket)....and the allen wrench is metric #5, fits all allen bolts in the tail section, that you need to remove.
Looks great! Did someone have monster tailchop envy?
MAJOR tailchop envy!!!!
