Are there any adaptors that allow putting a Marchesini wheel designed for the 25mm hollow axle on the old 17mm rear solid axle?

I thought all you had to do was replace the bearings to match the 17mm axle. Not that I really know anything about it...

it can be done, but it might not be simple.
the 25mm bearing might not be avail in the same thickness as the 17, requiring the use of a shim, or grinding off a little on the wheel.

Modifying the front wheel is simple.
Modifying the rear wheel is very difficult because of the sprocket carrier bearings and built in spacers (which are differebt as well).

Never tried changing the axle and hardware.
