Hi, Paul here from U.K. Have same experience as you. Just found my M1100 20th Anniversary which I collect this weekend. All the right features and 20th Anniversary stickers and livery but no serial number plate xxx/200. Will take bike details and try Ducati Customer Services. Did you get a result when you tried?Nice bike, but I am indeed partial. Your bike is one of the 200 1100 EVO Anniversary models. Somehow your numbered engine timing hole cover was not installed or someone 5 finger discounted your cover! As I stated in a past post, I wonder if Ducati customer service would do the leg work and replace your cover. I would definitely try. There should also be 2 "M1100 EVO 20th Anniversary" stickers on either side of the seat cowl and 1 "M1100 EVO 20th Anniversary" sticker on the top fwd tank cover. I would post pictures but I haven't set up my file share yet.
