$ 14,500 is about par now I would think.

If you are bringing that baby to the states - that is what I assume you are doing with a US spec bike - make sure you don't get sssssscccccreeeeeewwwed on taxes when you bring it ashore. With the fx rate and shipping - the price you paid on it should be about the same as what you would get it for in the states, as long as you don't pay taxes in the US.

You are paying about $13,400 for it, plus the shipping (flight to a cheap location) of $1,200 - plus the joy of having it at the GP and riding it in Spain etc. I think you are probably doing the right thing.

Congrats on the purchase. I am jealous.
Believe it or not I haven't been to the Isle of Man or the Northwest 200 for some reason. Probably because I am lazy. The British Superbike was held at Mondello park just outside of Dublin this year - and I wasn't in the country to see that. I am a slacker.

And on the shipping and insurance thing - good thing you are in the military - saves you tons of hassle. Nice deal - maybe you could cut me in on those insurance rates. Who underwrites you and how much if you don't mind me asking? Is it Geico?

I think you got a damn good deal on that s4R. A 2003 S4 is going for 13,700 EUR at my dealership. So an S4R must be listing for 15,000 EUR - 15,500 EUR (including VAT) - making that Equiv to about $17,250 - $17,825 EUR. Damn expensive ehh?
